Four local high school seniors have been selected as recipients of the 2025 Prosser Memorial Health Foundation scholarships, the foundation announced May 20.
Each student will receive a $2,000 scholarship to support their education as they pursue careers in the healthcare field, the news release said.
From Grandview High School, Amaretto Alexis McGuinness plans to attend the University of Washington, and Andrew Sarmiento will attend Central Washington University.
From Prosser High School, Cherish Deng has been accepted to Columbia University in New York. Karen Lopez of Connell High School will attend Washington State University in Pullman.
Scholarships were open to students in the Prosser Memorial Health service areas of Prosser, Benton City, and Grandview. An additional at-large scholarship was awarded to a student pursuing a healthcare career, regardless of location.
The foundation said the awards are part of its ongoing commitment to support local youth and strengthen the future healthcare workforce.
The Prosser Memorial Health Foundation raises and distributes funds to enhance healthcare services provided by Prosser Memorial Health. In addition to scholarships, the foundation helps fund new equipment, building projects, and other organizational advancements for Prosser Memorial Health.
