Four individuals from the Adel area are being recognized with scholarships that are tied to farming.
According to the Dallas County Farm Bureau, five students will be receiving scholarships totaling $3,500 to further their agricultural careers. Four of the students come from Adel, including Hayley Hick, Kelsey Greenslade, James Jensen, and Cody Felt. The release states that Hick is getting a $1,000 scholarship and will attend Iowa State University (ISU) to study Ag Communications, while Greenslade is also acquiring a $1,000 scholarship and is going to Northwestern Missouri State University for Ag Education.
According to Dallas County Farm Bureau, Jensen is receiving $500 for the scholarship as he’ll be attending ISU majoring in Ag Business, and Felt is a current college student at ISU getting a $500 scholarship and is on track to graduate in May with a degree in Animal Studies. The fifth recipient of a $500 scholarship is Emily Olsen of Waukee as she’s going to ISU as well for Animal Science.
