MORGANTOWN, Ky. – Four students were awarded scholarships Wednesday afternoon by Morgantown Bank & Trust at their annual scholarship ceremony.
Two students, Parker Smith & Addison Miller, were from Butler County High School, while the other two, Caraline Cordell & Abbie May were from Warren East and Bowling Green High Schools, respectively.
Normally in the past, Morgantown Bank & Trust has awarded scholarships to specifically Butler County students.
However, in the last few years, they’ve decided to incorporate Warren County Schools in as well.
“We have added a Warren County scholarship several years ago, and we increased that to a minimum of two, starting last year. We’re very pleased to be a true neighbor to all of our communities,” President & CEO of Morgantown Bank & Trust Jason Jones says.
Jones says the Butler County students were picked by representatives from the Warren County branch, and the Warren County students were picked by the Butler County branch. He also says this is a testament to the students’ character, since they’re being picked by people they don’t even know.
Parker plans to attend Western Kentucky University in the fall where he will run track & cross country. Addison (black dress) will attend Murray State University, and is a current softball & basketball player at Butler County. Caraline (white dress) will attend Middle Tennessee State University with plans of becoming a defense attorney. Abbie (blue shirt) will also attend Western Kentucky University with an interest in Speech Pathology.
We send our congratulations to Parker, Addison, Caraline & Abbie on their success and wish them well in their future!
