INTRODUCTION
The Friedrich Ebert Foundation Scholarship for International Students 2023 – 2024 is now accepting applications in Germany. All foreign learners and Overseas Citizens are eligible to apply for the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Scholarships 2024. The Friedrich Ebert Foundation Scholarship provides Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, and PhD Degree Scholarships in Germany. Students from any academic field are able to apply to attend college in Germany. Fully funded scholarships are available to study in Germany for free during the school year 2023-24
ELIGIBILITY
Basic funding :
- Confirmation of a place at a university or certificate of enrollment at a state or state-recognized German (technical) university for the degree program for which you would like funding
- Foreign applicants must also provide evidence of sufficient German language skills
- First-year students (German and foreign students) apply before or at the beginning of the first semester and need two references from teachers for the further application process
- Unconditional notification of admission to the doctoral scholarship
- Foreign applicants must also provide evidence of sufficient German language skills
SCHOLARSHIPS / AWARD
This scholarship covers the following expenses:
- Stipend of EUR 750 every month in a Bachelor’s, Diploma, Magister, or state examination program.
- A monthly stipend of EUR 850 is provided for Master’s students.
- Medical coverage costs are covered, and students with children get a family stipend of EUR 276.

Four steps lead to funding:
- Step 1: Simply fill out our online application . We will ask you a few questions about your professional and family background – no other documents are required yet. If you feel unsure or need to talk to us before applying, you can contact our 480 or so liaison lecturers. - Step 2: If you are eligible for a scholarship, we will request further documents from you by e-mail: two expert reports from university teachers as well as information about your previous education and your socio-political commitment . First-year students (not master’s students) in their first semester of university submit two reports from former teachers.
After our request, you have three weeks to upload the documents . Six weeks for the reports, if necessary after consultation with us. We advise you to gather the documents while you are waiting for our response.

- Step 3: If you are shortlisted, we would like to get to know you personally. We invite you to two interviews : with a liaison lecturer from your department and with a member of our selection committee. Tips for preparing for the selection interviews can be found here . The list of all liaison lecturers and selection committee members of the FES study grant can be found in the annual report of the FES , which is updated at the beginning of each year and published on the FES homepage.
- Step 4: The selection committee makes the final decision on acceptance into one of our programs. The committee meets several times a year.
