WILKES-BARRE — Recently members of the Wilkes-Barre Friendly Sons of St. Patrick held their 28th annual charity golf outing to raise and distribute scholarship funds to a local college student of Irish descent attending King’s College.
For the past 28 years, the Friendly Sons have partnered with and distributed more than $54,000 in scholarship funds to assist students studying at King’s College.
This year’s outing was held on Aug. 16 at Sand Springs Country Club in Drums.
Following the golf outing, a check for $2,000 was presented to Melanie Selner, as selected by the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick scholarship committee.
