MONROE, CT — A steady stream of customers shopped for deals on used books, DVDs, CDs, puzzles and more during Friends of Edith Wheeler Memorial Library’s annual Book Sale in the Ehlers Room of the library last Saturday.
The nonprofit uses all proceeds to benefit Edith Wheeler Memorial Library and its programs. “We do the children’s and adult programming,” said Susan Koneff, a longtime Friends member.
In addition to enhancing library programs, the Friends help to pay for equipment, furniture, and some facility improvements, outside the town’s budget. And now something new is on the horizon.
“We’re planning on giving a Friends of the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library Scholarship to a deserving Masuk High School senior for the first time,” Koneff said.
