GATLINBURG, Tenn. — The Gatlinburg Chamber Foundation awarded a total of $22,500 in higher education funding to fifteen students from seven different East Tennessee high schools.
The foundation offers annual academic scholarships to both traditional and non-traditional students in the East Tennessee community. According to a release, this year’s awarded class includes five Platinum Scholarship recipients, each receiving $2,500, and 10 Traditional Scholarship students, each receiving $1,000.
Scholarships were presented to students at their respective high schools by Gatlinburg Convention and Visitors Bureau President & CEO, Chad Netherland, and Chamber Division Director, Jessi O’Lear Webb.
“We’re thrilled to recognize and support these incredible students,” Webb said. “Each one represents the bright future of our community, and we’re honored to play a part in their educational journeys.”
