The Gene Kauffman Scholarship Foundation, Inc. has announced the recipients of its scholarships for the Fall 2024 semester. The foundation’s Board of Directors approved a total of $89,200 in scholarships to 23 female graduates from North Mercer High School and Princeton High School in Mercer County, Missouri.
The scholarships, funded by a trust established by the late Edward E. “Gene” Kauffman, are awarded based on specific eligibility criteria. Recipients must be female, unmarried, non-smokers, and graduates of Mercer County high schools. Additionally, they are required to demonstrate financial need, enroll in at least 12 credit hours at an accredited Missouri college or university, and maintain a satisfactory grade point average.
Each recipient submitted a signed statement confirming they met all program requirements, including completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by June 30, 2024.

Applications for the Spring 2025 semester became available on Nov. 1, 2024. Interested students can pick up applications at the principal’s offices of Princeton R-V and North Mercer R-III schools. The forms are also accessible on the schools’ websites.
The scholarship program honors Edward E. “Gene” Kauffman of Princeton, Mercer County, Missouri. His vision was to support higher education for female graduates from the county who met specific personal and academic criteria.
