Local high school students, soon to graduate, were recently honored as Student Scholars at Maris Grove, an Erickson Senior Living community in Glen Mills, Pa.
These dedicated student employees—who worked as servers and hosts across the community’s on-campus restaurants—demonstrated outstanding commitment to service and professionalism.
At the Student Scholar ceremony on May 18, 16 student workers were granted $8,000 scholarships to support their pursuit of a 4-year college, two-year community college, or trade school education. Also, 10 student scholars received donor-designated named scholarships totaling $71,000.
In addition, the One-Year Adult Learners Award, a scholarship worth $2,000, was given to six adult team members who tirelessly balance their work schedule at Maris Grove and hours of coursework.
“Our student employees and team members truly understand the value of these scholarships,” says Philanthropy Manager Sarah Golden. “We’re incredibly grateful to our residents for their generosity. These awards make a lasting difference in our students’ lives.”
Since 2008, the Maris Grove Scholars’ Fund has awarded over $1 million in financial aid to student workers to support their pursuit of higher education.
