DUBLIN, Ga. — It’s every high school senior’s goal to make it into their dream school for college, and that wish came true for one Dublin High School student.
But not only is Tristen Ellis celebrating his admission into the University of Georgia, he’s also being recognized for racking up an impressive amount of scholarship offers, too!
According to the Dublin, Georgia City School District, Ellis has earned more than $1.3 million in merit-based scholarships after receiving acceptance letters from 60 colleges and universities across the country.
The district described the senior as a “dedicated scholar, athlete, and leader” who has proven to be a standout student at Dublin City Schools.
“With a heart for learning, a passion for medicine, and an unbreakable connection to his Fighting Irish Family, Tristen Ellis is a shining example of what Dublin City Schools students can achieve,” the district wrote on its Facebook page.
Dublin High School Senior Tristen Ellis has achieved an extraordinary milestone, earning over $1.3 million in…
Ellis has been attending the Dublin City Schools District since Pre-K, the district said, and has excelled in academics and extracurriculars throughout. He has participated in honors, advanced placement, international baccalaureate and dual enrollment courses throughout high school, all while maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA. His academic success also earned him a certificate of merit from the University of Georgia for ranking in the top 10% of his class.
Beyond academics, Ellis has served as student body president, captain of the varsity tennis team, president of the senior beta club, member of the Fighting Irish marching band and member of the math team. He was also voted 2024 homecoming king.

Ellis credited his success to the support he feels from the district.
“Dublin City Schools is like a family,” he said. “I feel like I am surrounded by teachers and staff everywhere that I consider second mothers and fathers. So, although I am not with my parents during the day, I feel like I am near moms and dads always, and I know they will always be there for me even after I graduate.”
