The Foundation at Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) awarded 51 scholarships totaling more than $36,000 to 48 graduating high school seniors in the northwest Georgia region.
Recipients of the Chattooga High School Alumni Scholarship are Connor Elrod, Micheal Cordle II, McKenzie Evans, Akeyla Hendrix and Preslee Hurley.
Gisselle Tome, Coosa High School, has been awarded the Hix Family Scholarship.
Yazmen Aldaba, North Murray High School; Keren Garcia, Murray County High School; and Carter Thompson, North Murray High School, received the McDaniel Family Foundation Scholarship. Aldaba also received the GNTC Foundation High School Graduate Scholarship.
Thompson and James Lopez, Murray County High School, were awarded the Kirby Patterson Memorial Scholarship.
Recipients of the David Adam Scholarship are Cedartown High School students Madison Crawford and Daisy Tema-Lopez. Crawford also received the GNTC Foundation High School Graduate Scholarship.
Other recipients of the GNTC Foundation High School Graduate Scholarship are Sheyli Barrios, Gordon Central High School; Zachary Bateau, Polk County College and Career Academy; Gabriel Blackburn, Floyd County College and Career Academy; Katelyn Bradford, Catoosa County College and Career Academy; Lexus Cox, Mountain Education Charter High School; Roberto Cruz, Dalton High School; Jonathan Cuevas, Rome High School; Autumn Duke, Mountain Education Charter High School; Sally Dunn, Pleasant Valley Innovative School; Bailey Evans, Walker LAUNCH College and Career Academy; Brylee Hall, Northwest Whitfield High School; Harley Harlow, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School; Chianne Rose Holmes, Calhoun High School; Skylar Hughes, Ringgold High School; Connor Jones, Northwest Georgia College and Career Academy; Emory Kidd, Rome City Schools College and Career Academy; Steven McDowell, Ridgeland High School; Savannah Mizic, Heritage High School; Lyla Motley, Murray County High School; Christopher Ortiz, Sonoraville High School; Richard Hernandez Perez, Calhoun College and Career Academy; Mari “Jessica” Rodriguez, Coahulla Creek High School; Sam Rodriguez, Chattooga High School; Ansley Rogers, Armuchee High School; William “Luke” Rosenbalm, Dade County High School; Andres Romo, The Dalton Academy; Gibson Scott, Gordon County College and Career Academy; Josie Skelton, Trion High School; Hayden Sparks, Gordon Lee High School; Drew Stockton, Model High School; Avery Cason Tanner, Pepperell High School; T’khi Trammell, Phoenix High School; Yitsela Vazquez-Hernandez, Coosa High School; Litzy Villegas, Southeast Whitfield High School; Savannah Walls, Rockmart High School; and Ella Webb, LaFayette High School.
The GNTC Foundation Trustees are Valerie Brown, Whitfield County; Phillip Burkhalter, Floyd County; Linda Case, Dade County; Steven M. Henry, Catoosa County; Luther Ingram, Walker County; Amy L. Jackson, Catoosa County; Jay LeGrande, Polk County; Craig McDaniel, Floyd County; Zab Mendez, Whitfield County; Paul Meredith, Chattooga County; Sherrie Patterson, Murray County; Damon Raines, Walker County; Becky Redd, Gordon County; and Doris White, Walker County.
Georgia Northwestern Technical College provides quality workforce education to the citizens of northwest Georgia. Students have the opportunity to earn an associate degree, diploma or a certificate in aviation, business, health, industrial or public service career paths. This past year, 13,775 people benefited from GNTC’s credit and noncredit programs. GNTC has an annual credit enrollment of 8,836 students and an additional enrollment of 4,939 people through adult education, continuing education, business and industry training and Georgia Quick Start.
