Golden Plains Insurance has announced Sadie Joy Buhr of La Junta as the recipient of their annual scholarship for 2025. The $2,000 scholarship recognizes outstanding dedication to community, education, faith, and academic excellence among graduating seniors.
According to a media release from the company, Buhr was selected from 24 applicants due to her exceptional commitment to community service, agriculture, academics, and leadership. She maintains an impressive 4.06 weighted grade point average and received support through three letters of recommendation highlighting her dedication to family, education, and agriculture.
Buhr plans to major in veterinary medicine and pursue a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at either West Texas A & M or Colorado State University Fort Collins. Golden Plains Insurance stated Sadie emphasized the importance of preparation and determination in her application.
The Scholarship Committee expressed confidence that Buhr will utilize the scholarship “to its fullest potential, driven by her passion for agriculture, education, and community service.”
