To help raise the money needed for scholarships in the name of Coach August Deets, a golf tournament fundraiser is Saturday, May 3 at the Fort Cobb Golf Course. Registration is from 8:30-9 a.m.

Organizers said, “This is a great opportunity to show your support for Coach Deets and his family.
“He was one of the best coaches … and one student from Apache, Elgin and Newcastle will receive a scholarship in his name to go towards their college education.”
They said the golf tournament is a lot of fun, and it will have good food, and great family and friends participating.
A four-person team is $400, while individuals can sign up to play on a team for $100. Sponsorships are available to help raise funds. Hole sponsors are $75, the drink sponsor is $500, and the T-shirt sponsor is $300.
