TRAFALGAR, Ind. – Officials from Grace College, in Winona Lake Indiana, traveled to Indian Creek High School in Trafalgar on Friday afternoon to surprise high school senior Lydia Ringer with the news she has received a full-tuition scholarship to Grace, a $126,048 value.
Lydia’s family, classmates, principal Luke Skobel, and the Grace College admissions staff and mascot attended the presentation.
The scholarship was awarded due to Ringer’s impressive performance at Grace’s annual Presidential Scholarship Days, a competition for high-achieving high school seniors that awards nearly $2 million in scholarships.
Of the 338 students taking part this year, she was the only one to receive the full tuition scholarship.
Students must meet two or more criteria to be eligible for the competition: 3.75 GPA, top 20% class rank, and 1230 SAT or 26 ACT.
