GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A local organization is hoping to raise money for local scholarships.
The Theta Chi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated is hosting its Derby Day Scholarship Fundraiser weekend.
The money raised will help fund scholarships for students in the community.
The event will take place May 2-3.
It kicks off with the TCO Golf Classic at Thornapple Point Golf Club in Grand Rapids from 2:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. that Friday
A two-person scramble costs $300 and a four-person scramble costs $600.
Then on Saturday, the sorority is hosting its Derby Day Party from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The event will be hosted at the Stonewater Country Club in Caledonia.
The General Gallop Pass costs $75 and the Sip & Saddle Pass costs $100.
