The Green Lake Area 13dot1 board of directors announced Ripon High School’s Ava Osheim as the recipient of its 2025 Scholarship Award.
As a 501c3 organization, Green Lake 13dot1, Inc. awarded a $1,000 scholarship with the support of last year’s event sponsors. The scholarship was designed to be in keeping with the organization’s mission of the encouragement of health/wellness, running and walking in Green Lake and surrounding communities.
Osheim, recently received her award at Ripon High School’s senior awards ceremony. She was active in both track and cross country during high school, worked as a personal trainer at Anytime Fitness and plans to become a physical education teacher. She will begin her studies at Winona State University in the fall.
The 2025 race will be held on Saturday, Aug. 30. Online registration for the half marathon, 10k and 5k is open and those who are interested should register early to get the best pricing. More information about packet pick-up, race routes and other race weekend events will be posted on the Green Lake Area 13dot1 website and social media channels.
Those who aren’t interested in running or walking the Green Lake Area 13dot1 races, but still would like to support the cause, may consider adding themselves to the list of sponsors for this year’s event. Sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses big or small. Information on sponsorship levels may be found on the Green Lake Area 13dot1 website.
The board of directors also are looking for race-day volunteers to assist at water stations, help with traffic control and to serve as course marshals.
Individuals who are interested in sponsoring or volunteering at the event or have questions regarding registration, may email gla13dot1@gmail.com.
