Samuel sonntag receives the Thomas E. Caestecker Foundation Scholarship, in the amount of $50,000. He is also the salutatorian for the class of 2024.
Green Lake School honored the class of 2024 during its annual Senior Scholarship and Awards Night last week Wednesday.
Area service groups, businesses and other community organizations provided $427,300 in scholarships to students as part of the celebration, while Green Lake School provided awards, many of which came with medallions, tassels or sashes to wear during graduation.
The event also recognized the class of 2024 valedictorians Cameron Sandberg and Ethan Stibb, as well as salutatorian Samuel Sonntag.

Secondary Principal Catherine Moore introduced the class of 2024 and told the audience of the challenges they had experienced, and how they faced them and their future.
“Class of 2024, you are at a point where you have the ability to look back at where you’ve come, and what you have achieved,” Moore said. “You’re also at a point where you can look forward as the fearless dreamers that we know you are. That’s what tonight is all about. … We’re so very proud of you at Green Lake. We honor what you have accomplished and we are excited to report the amazing things you will do and the amazing people that you will become.”
