Greene Co HS Students Encouraged to Compete in the American Legion Oratorical Scholarship Contest – Raccoon Valley Radio

Greene County High School students are encouraged to sign up for a competitive scholarship program with the American Legion Post #11 in Jefferson.
Barb Labate, the Jefferson American Legion Contest Chair, says the American Legion Oratorical Scholarship Program is a chance for high schoolers to prepare a speech, based on a topic, and present it at several levels of competition, for a chance to win a $25,000 scholarship as the national champion. She points out that last year, Greene County High School senior Payton Wadsworth won $1,250 of scholarships, as she reached the state level of competition.
The American Legion Oratorical Scholarship Program is for any 9th-12th grade student that attends public school or is homeschooled. Contact Labate for more information at 515-386-5547.
