During its May meeting, the Griffin-Spalding Retired Educators’ Association (G-SREA) awarded Memorial Scholarships to two aspiring teachers in recognition of their dedication and commitment to education.
The Memorial Scholarship is designed to encourage and support employees of the Griffin-Spalding County School System who are working toward becoming certified public school teachers.
This year’s recipients are Sharon Snyder, who is employed at Beaverbrook Elementary School, and Santerica Lango, who works at Spalding High School.
Portia Lacy serves as the Scholarship Chairman, and Leola Hill is the President of G-SREA.
