GWU President Ellen Granberg and Dean of Undergraduate Admissions Ben Toll awarded the two students with the scholarships in front of their families, teachers and classmates.

"It just means a lot because free college now means there's so much money I can save. Maybe I can get a house in my future," said Nick, one of the scholarship recipients.

"I feel very relieved right now. It just takes a weight off me and my parents," said Brooke, the other GWU scholarship recipient.
Undergraduate Admissions Dean Ben Toll said part of these scholarships is about keeping these outstanding students in the D.C. area.
