CHICOPEE, Mass. (WGGB/Gray News) – A Massachusetts high school senior has been accepted into more than 80 colleges and universities thanks to his outstanding academic resume.
Evans Kailola is a senior at Hampden Charter School of Science with big academic dreams.
“It feels really good. I’m really proud of myself for what I’ve done,” Kailola said.
This fall, Kailola will officially embark on his higher education path while continuing to raise his academic career.
“I hope to be in the field of artificial intelligence,” he said. “I want to work for a company that would allow me to have all the freedom and allow me to innovate solutions for them.”
Kailola currently has a 4.39 grade-point average. He has taken a dozen advanced learning courses, participates in the honor society, is a member of the student council and is a student ambassador.
His academic success has led him to be accepted into 88 colleges while being offered more than $6 million worth of scholarships.
“It just shows that my hard work pays off,” Kailola said.
Some of the schools that have accepted Kailola include Boston University, University of Connecticut, University of Florida, and Purdue University.
Kailola said he is pointed toward Boston University and wants to major in electrical engineering.
The senior has received praise from his family, friends and educators. He has thanked them for their support and for helping him succeed.
