Hardin Co. Retired Teacher Association Scholarship Chairman Sandy Moore brought applications to the May meeting at the Kenton Elks and presented them to the members. It was voted to give $500 each to three active teachers in Hardin County.
Applications can be for continued education or for projects that need extra financial support.

The retired teachers wished to support these teachers. Lindsey Whetstone is the Hardin Northern Agriculture teacher and FFA Advisor. She will be focusing on teaching her students the process of raising chickens. She needs the equipment, the chicks, and safe environment for the chicks. If she can get enough financial support for her needs, she will start her project in the fall. She hopes to donate the chickens as food to families in need at the end of the project.
Caleb Austin is a Kenton High School Biology and Anatomy teacher. He needed a dual head microscope to help teach science a little easier to his students.
Todd DaQuino is working to gain his masters in vocal music education. He is the director of the Kenton High School vocal choirs.

The Hardin Co. Retired Teachers have invited these awardees to return at some future meeting to share their experiences.
