The Maurice R. Greenberg School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science (GSRM), part of The Peter J. Tobin College of Business at St. John’s University, is presently accepting applications for the 2025 Harold Jackson Scholarship for the study of ocean marine insurance in London, England.
Established under the will of the late Harold Jackson, former President of Wm. H. McGee & Company, Inc., the scholarship consists of round-trip transportation to London; lodging costs for a stay of up to two weeks; payment of tuition and fees for the course of study to be determined by the scholarship recipient; and a personal allowance for miscellaneous living expenses.
The scholarship is awarded based on successful completion of the Associate in Marine Insurance Management (AMIM®) 320 (or 121) examination, prepared and graded by The Institutes Knowledge Group™, and a completed application and written report of not more than 1,000 words on the following three-part topic, submitted by June 2, 2025:
The Greenberg School of Risk Management was founded in 1901 as the Insurance Society of New York and decades later became The College of Insurance (TCI). In June 2001, TCI merged with St. John’s University, becoming a School inside The Peter J. Tobin College of Business.
St. John’s awards undergraduate, M.B.A., and M.S. degrees in insurance, risk management, and actuarial science. Through its Tobin Center for Executive Education, the University provides education, training, and consulting services to industry, governments, and regulators worldwide. The GSRM is also home to the Kathryn and Shelby Cullom Davis Library, which houses the world’s largest and most comprehensive insurance collection.
