Heart of Texas Crimestoppers presented $1,000 scholarships to members of the Class of 2025 from Brown, Coleman and Mills County. Early’s Matty Boswell, Zephyr’s Ethan Byers, and Goldthwaite’s Paula Avila received their scholarships Thursday. Coleman’s Kelan Sikes was not able to attend.
Students filled out an application, submitted an essay and SAT test scores were also a factor in determining the winners.
On hand at the presentation were board members Brenda Arp, Billy Arp, Mike Corley, and Nelda Schwegman-Potts. Unable to attend were board members Donna Wilhelm, Paula Gore, Gay Morgan, Chris Jameson and Scotty Lawrence.
Heart of Texas Crimestoppers intends to continuing to issue $1,000 scholarships to students from Brown, Coleman and Mills County going forward. Heart of Texas Crimestoppers is already accepting applications for the Class of 2026. For more information, email [email protected] or call 325-642-0072.
