Hendrix College is excited to announce the recipients of Hays Memorial Scholarships and Provost Scholarships for the Class of 2029. These scholarships represent the highest academic honors awarded to incoming first-year students and reflect Hendrix’s commitment to academic excellence, intellectual curiosity, and student achievement.
Four students have been awarded the Hays Memorial Scholarship, which covers all direct costs—including tuition, fees, room, and board—and increases in value if tuition rises. Four additional students have been named Provost Scholars, receiving a $5,000 award that supplements their initial merit scholarships.
Hays Memorial Scholars:
Provost Scholars:
Hays and Provost Scholars were selected from a highly competitive pool of U.S. and International applicants who demonstrated outstanding academic success. U.S. applicants were asked to submit a short essay responding to a prompt about the College’s Odyssey Program. After essays were evaluated by admission counselors, top candidates were invited to participate in group discussion interviews, during which they were independently evaluated by multiple reviewers on a three-point scale. Students who earned the highest combined ratings were awarded the Hays Scholarship, while others with strong performance were selected as Provost Scholars.
