Holy Family Catholic Academy (HFCA), an International Baccalaureate World School in Inverness, announced that three members of the Class of 2024 have been awarded merit scholarships to two acclaimed Catholic college prep high schools — Carmel Catholic and St. Viator.
Principal Kate O’Brien expressed her pride, saying, “Throughout the years, we have celebrated several students receiving these scholarships, but this is the first time that three students in a single graduating class — Andrew Albritton, Margaret Drees and Caleb Stout — have been awarded scholarships. We are so proud of these students’ remarkable achievements.”
Both St. Viator and Carmel award four-year renewable scholarships to students scoring in the top 90th percentile nationally on the High School Placement Exam. Caleb Stout achieved further distinction by scoring in the 97th percentile.
Christine Bremmer, director of Admissions at St. Viator, shared, “We take pride in honoring Caleb and Andrew, who have excelled academically, and we thank Holy Family Catholic Academy for providing an excellent academic foundation.”
Margaret Drees will be attending Carmel Catholic High School.
Brian Stith, Carmel’s chief Enrollment and Advancement officer, stated, “We have enjoyed a long history of HFCA students attending Carmel, and it is an honor to congratulate Margaret for earning this merit scholarship. We are thrilled to welcome her and her fellow HFCA classmates to the Carmel Catholic High School Class of 2028.”
Andrew, Caleb, and Margaret’s graduating class is the largest in the academy’s history, with graduates attending seven different public, private, and Catholic high schools. While these three students have been recognized by the Catholic high schools they will be attending, many other members of the Class of 2024 are beginning public and private high schools with honors and Advanced Placement classes further underscoring the strength of HFCA’s nationally and internationally recognized curriculum and instruction.
HFCA’s innovative approach to teaching and learning focuses on building critical thinking and leadership skills while also instilling a strong sense of service.
Principal O’Brien summarized the school’s mission, stating, “We strive to develop minds to lead tomorrow and hearts to serve today.”
As the Class of 2024 moves to the next phase of their academic journeys, HFCA’s community celebrates their successes and eagerly anticipates their future contributions. These scholarships not only recognize the hard work and dedication of Andrew, Margaret, and Caleb but also reflect the supportive and enriching environment fostered at HFCA.
The entire HFCA community congratulates its graduates and looks forward to their continued growth, prepared to make a positive impact on the world as global thinkers, leaders grounded in faith.
