High school senior earns $10 million in scholarships, accepted to over 50 colleges - Face2Face Africa

Mississippi’s Jayme Anderson attends Forest Hill High School, which is popularly known in the community as the University of South Jackson. The Jackson Public School District describes him as a committed student and an active member of the Pride of Forest Hill Band who has continuously shown dedication both inside and outside of the classroom.
Anderson’s academic achievement and musical ability have earned him more than 50 college and university acceptances nationwide, including more than $10 million in scholarships.

Among the universities that have extended scholarship offers to him are Stanford University, San Francisco State University, Penn State, UCLA, and UC Berkeley.
“This milestone not only showcases Jayme’s hard work and perseverance but also highlights the excellence we work to cultivate at USJ,” Principal Torrey Hampton wrote in a statement. “It reflects the results of our All-Hands-On-Deck approach—where every staff member plays a role in supporting scholar success.”

Jayme’s experience, according to the district, exemplifies how talent, discipline, and a good support system can pave the way for opportunities.
According to the statement, “Forest Hill High School congratulates him on this significant achievement and looks forward to seeing what he accomplishes next.”
Just last month, Makenzie Williams, a senior at Ouachita Parish High, was ranked first in her class out of 274 students. According to her mother, Keyonya, Williams received more than $1 million in scholarship offers from 75 colleges.
Additionally, Williams received a 27 on the ACT and was invited to the Ouachita 2025 Students Banquet as one of the top 20 scholars.
