SAN ANTONIO – Kennedy White is a legacy at Holmes High School.

She grew up on the campus because her mom worked there. But the legacy she leaves is all hers.
And it could push her to leaving her mark in pro sports.
Kennedy is ranked as the No. 7 student in her class at Holmes.
She racked up more than a million dollars' worth of combined scholarships from 14 schools. But as luck would have it, she won't take a dime from those schools.
"I chose a school that did not give me a scholarship because I fell in love with their traditions. Wait a minute know, I know. Let's start this over. You have a million dollars in scholarships, and you are going to pay for school yes sir."
Kennedy chose Tarleton State University because of the small campus and family atmosphere.
She also chose it because the school will let her pursue a dream of getting injured athletes back on the field which has been her career dream all along.
It's not a job. It's a calling.
"Whenever I started football, I just fell in love with the sport. And being around this group of girls that would help the boys. I always loved the fact that we are always there for them and they know we got their backs. I just loved being a part of a sport. I used to play sports but I don't anymore so being on the sidelines is my favorite part of being involved."
Kennedy will pursue a degree in kinesiology and a masters in athletic training.
