Hoosier women over 25 can apply for POWER scholarship – dailyjournal.net

Hoosier women seeking a “non-traditional” path to higher education can apply for a special scholarship.
State Rep. Peggy Mayfield, R-Martinsville, a member of the bipartisan Indiana Political Organization for Women’s Education and Representation Caucus, invites local women to apply for the scholarship. The POWER Caucus is Indiana’s legislative women’s caucus that is working to improve the quality of life for all women and citizens of the state, a news release from her office says.
Mayfield said this $1,000 scholarship is awarded to Hoosier women age 25 and older who are taking a “non-traditional” path in returning to school to pursue an undergraduate or graduate degree.
“Many women pause their education to raise families or focus on their careers,” Mayfield said. “This scholarship supports their determination to return to school, grow and achieve no matter the obstacles. I encourage those eligible to apply and applaud these Hoosier women for taking the next step in their education.”
Applications are available online at cognitoforms.com/IndianaPOWER1/IndianaPOWERScholarship.
Applicants must be 25 or older and attending or recently accepted to an Indiana college or university.
The deadline to apply is Nov. 7.
