Onslow Memorial Hospital is launching a new scholarship program partnership with Coastal Carolina Community College.
Onslow Memorial Hospital announced this week a new partnership with Coastal Carolina Community College that will provide nursing scholarships to students.
Starting with the 2025-26 academic year, all students accepted into CCCC’s Associate Degree Nursing program will qualify for the Onslow Memorial Hospital Nursing Scholarship Program, according to Victoria Morales, OMH public relations and marketing manager.
The program will offer full financial support, including tuition, books and mandatory fees, valued at over $20,000 during the two-year program.
In addition, each scholarship recipient will receive a $500 monthly stipend to cover living expenses, Morales said. The program ensures employment with OMH upon graduation and successfully passing the NCLEX exam.
“We are thrilled to offer this scholarship opportunity in partnership with Coastal Carolina Community College,” said Taylor Flowers, senior vice president of human resources at OMH.
“The demand for qualified nurses is higher than ever. By offering this support, we are investing in the education of future nurses, ensuring that individuals can live and work within their own communities. This investment will help strengthen the local healthcare workforce and address the ongoing shortage of healthcare professionals at both the state and national levels.”
CCCC’s Associate Degree Nursing program is designed to prepare students for the challenges and rewards of a career in nursing.
With a strong focus on intensive learning, mutual respect and building clinical expertise, the program provides a solid foundation for students to succeed in the healthcare profession.
“We are incredibly proud of our partnership with Onslow Memorial Hospital,” said Matthew Herrmann, vice president of instruction and student services at CCCC.
“This collaboration with our community partner not only provides invaluable opportunities for our students but also establishes a clear pipeline to employment for students that benefits the community. The financial support throughout the program allows our students to remain focused on their education, ultimately preparing them for successful careers in healthcare, and this initiative is a testament to the strength of our partnership with Onslow Memorial Hospital.”
