Hot Spring County Master Gardeners will award three Community Impact Beautification Grants, and three $1000 scholarships during the annual plant sale Saturday, April 6th.
A $500 grant will be awarded to the Hot Spring County Museum in downtown Malvern to fund their Tree Removal and New Bed project. Another grant of $500 will go to the Will and Daisy Community Garden which is on 67 adjacent to Ouachita School. The grant will fund the installation of a pollinator garden. A grant of $400 will be awarded to fund the purchase of plants during the sale for the ornamental beds at Hot Spring County Courthouse.
Scholarships winners include: Grady Howell, son of Stacy and Mary Howell of Caney, who is a land survey major at UA Monticello; Atlanta Nelson, daughter of Scott and Ashley Nelson of Malvern and a graduating senior who intends to study animal nutrition at UA Fayetteville; and Hannah Riggan, daughter of Blake and Michelle Riggan of Midway, who is an agribusiness major at Southern Arkansas University.
The plant sale begins at 8:00 AM in the exhibit hall at the Malvern fairgrounds. Awards will be made at 10:00AM.
