HILLBURN – The Lower Hudson Valley Challenger Center may be gone from Rockland County, but the now-defunct nonprofit that supported it has found a way to make sure its mission to foster STEM education lives on.
At the July 29 Suffern Central School District board meeting, past board members of the Lower Hudson Valley Challenger Center, Inc., are expected to present $385,000 to the Suffern school district for education programming and $50,000 to the REACH Foundation of Rockland, Inc., to be used to fund scholarships for Suffern High Schoolers going on to study STEM in college.
