TROY, N.Y. — Twelve new students and three returning students at Hudson Valley Community College have signed commitment letters for the electric worker scholarship. This initiative is part of a broader trend where community colleges are expanding degree tracks to accommodate the increasing number of students pursuing careers in fields like energy production.
Barnett also highlighted the company's commitment to workforce development. "And we really wanted to provide opportunities to folks to join our workforce that might not otherwise have some of the resources we do," he said.
The students will receive a $7,000 scholarship for the school year, which will help reduce the overall costs of the semester, including tuition and textbooks.
