At Monday night’s meeting, the Indiana School Board congratulated Superintendent Robert Heinrich for winning the 2024 Instructional Leadership Award from the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators.
The award was presented to Heinrich at a ceremony in Harrisburg on November 14th.  He was honored for his work in realigning the district’s math curriculum, moving the reading and writing curriculum to a structured approach to developing literacy and expanding dual enrollment opportunities, along with recognizing his leadership in creating a multi-tiered support system to help students learn and grow academically and behaviorally.  The award came with a $1000 prize from Lincoln Investments, which Heinrich said he would use to start a scholarship fund.  He added that he will also contribute to the scholarship as well.
The board approved four change orders for the Eisenhower project, including plumbing, two electrical items and the installation of drywall.  The board did not act on a contract for architectural services for the proposed High School classroom project, as they are still looking over all the proposals.  It will return to the agenda at a later meeting.
