In a state where hard work and dedication are deeply valued, 228 students across Idaho are receiving a life-changing boost thanks to the generosity of Idahoans who believe in the power of education.
This year, The Idaho Community Foundation awarded more than $740,000 in scholarships to support learners of all kinds, from first-generation college students to future nurses, welders, and veterinarians.
“With your support, I will continue to work hard, stay involved in my community, and grow in the hospitality industry,” said Katherine Cameron of Rathdrum, a Larry J. May Hospitality Management Scholar. “This scholarship reminds me why I chose this path — to serve others and lead with care.”
Scholarships like these are possible because of the vision of ICF fundholders — people who care deeply about their communities and want to help future generations thrive.
“I created a scholarship fund through The Idaho Community Foundation because I believe that every student should have the opportunity to pursue their dreams,” said Jeanne Van Meeteren of Orofino. “By supporting students from Idaho’s rural counties, we’re not just helping individuals succeed — we’re investing in the long-term vitality of entire communities.”
The Idaho Community Foundation manages more than 70 scholarship funds established by donors who want to support the next generation. Scholarships support a wide variety of educational paths — including vocational training, two- and four-year degrees, and graduate programs.
While many students benefit now, ICF leaders see even greater potential ahead. “This year’s scholarships reflect both need and opportunity,” said Steve Burns, President and CEO of The Idaho Community Foundation. “As Idaho grows, so does the need for a well-educated, community-minded generation. We’re proud to be part of that journey — and we invite others to join us.”
