The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) is now accepting applications for its 2025 Scholarship Program. The program will award at least 53 scholarships to current and former youth in care, including four for children of veterans and two in honor of late DCFS caseworkers.
Recipients will receive up to five years of tuition and fee waivers at Illinois public universities or community colleges, a $1,577 monthly grant, and a medical card. The program supports youth transitioning from care to higher education, alleviating financial burdens and enabling focus on studies.
Scholarship selection is based on academic performance, community involvement, recommendations, and a personal essay. Applications are open through March 31 at apply.mykaleidoscope.com/program/ILDCFS2025.
For assistance, call DCFS at 217-557-2689.
