ILLINOIS (WTHI) – More than $58,000 is available for Illinois high school students this year. The scholarships are through the Illinois Sheriff’s Association. Students attending a college, university, or trade school this fall are encouraged to apply. Last year, 117 awards were given out.
The scholarship program was established in 1979. Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding scholastic, extra-curricular, and character qualifications.
The deadline to apply is March 15. You’ll need to fill out the form and turn it in to your local county sheriff.
