The AdventHealth Gordon Foundation is proud to announce Brisly M. Ambrocio-Perez, a graduating senior from Calhoun High School, as the first recipient of the AdventHealth Gordon Foundation Scholarship in memory of Maxwell Parrott, MD.
This scholarship was established in memory of Dr. Maxwell Parrott, a beloved physician at AdventHealth Gordon who passed away following a courageous battle with cancer.
Dr. Parrott dedicated many years of compassionate service to the Calhoun community, leaving a lasting legacy of care, kindness, and excellence in medicine.
The scholarship honors Dr. Parrottā€™s commitment to health care and his passion for mentoring future generations. It will be awarded annually to a local high school senior who demonstrates academic excellence, leadership, and a desire to pursue a career in the medical field.
Brisly M. Ambrocio-Perez exemplifies these qualities. A standout student at Calhoun High School, Brisly has shown a deep commitment to her studies and a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of others through health care. She plans to pursue a degree in nursing, with the goal of serving her community just as Dr. Parrott did.
In her application, Brisly wrote: ā€œBecoming a health care professional will allow me to make a meaningful impact in my community, including being able to speak and understand the language of Spanish toward my patientsā€¦.I know firsthand how powerful it is to feel understood and supported as I have witnessed others care for my family in times of need. That compassion has inspired me to give back in the same way. I also know that through this path I will witness the Lordā€™s work in miracles in the lives of the sick, bringing healing where it is most needed. I am committed to offering not just medical care, but genuine understanding and kindness to every patient I serve.ā€
