TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Indiana State University Alumna and faculty member Jennifer Mullen pledged $30,000 to create an endowed scholarship for the college’s business students.
Mullen said she wanted the scholarship to be for students in the Scott College of Business who have received limited financial support but remain committed to finishing their degree.
“When I look back on my time as a student in the Scott College of Business, I see how they were building a foundation that prepared me for success and opened so many doors for opportunity,” said Mullen. “I want to leave a legacy of kindness and giving back that will make a difference for future generations.”
Mullen has earned two degrees from Indiana State University, and after graduation, worked in sales management before returning to work in admissions for the school. Mullen has also held positions in the school in the Department of Communication, and is currently the Senior Instructor in the Scott College of Business and Director of the Networks Program. She has also served as Director of Frontline Operations at IUPUI and as an Adjunct Instructor at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
“Jennifer is an incredible mentor to so many within the Scott College of Business,” said Scott College of Business Dean Terry Daugherty. “She cares deeply about student success and has an infectious energy that inspires. This scholarship is a meaningful reflection of her dedication to helping our students overcome barriers and develop as future business leaders.”
The $30,000 gift will start the Jennifer A. Mullen Endowed Scholarship. To qualify, students must be studying a major in the Scott College of Business and not receive any other substantial University-funded scholarships.
“Jennifer’s investment in student success reflects her belief in our mission and our students and exemplifies how alumni and faculty can shape the future of Indiana State through generosity and vision,” said Andrea Angel, CEO of the Indiana State University Foundation and Vice President of the Division of University Advancement. “We are deeply grateful for her meaningful contribution and inspiring dedication to our Sycamore community.”
