An IUP graduate has established a scholarship at the university in memory of her late mother, Rosalie Howard.
Gwen Miller, an elementary education graduate from the class of 1960, created the Rosalie Howard Memorial Scholarship to support IUP students who demonstrate financial need. The first award will be made in the fall of 2026. Rosalie Howard, a native of Cambria County, ran a beauty shop in Torrance for many years while raising three children. Her daughter says the scholarship reflects her mother’s lifelong belief in the value of education even though economic hardships kept her from pursuing it herself. Miller now splits her time between Chester Springs and Florida and credits IUP for laying the foundation for her success in education and in her family’s business.
