Ivy Tech Community College Columbus will host a live stream event in celebration of Ivy Tech Day, the school’s annual one-day fundraiser.
The livestream will begin today at 9 a.m. on the Ivy Tech Columbus YouTube channel, youtube.com/@ivytechcolumbus, and will continue into the late afternoon.
Ivy Tech Columbus Chancellor Dr. Steven Combs and Vice Chancellor of Development Therese Copeland will co-host the livestream event from Moravec Hall in Columbus. The livestream will feature Ivy Tech students, faculty, and supporters, as well as behind-the-scenes looks, student highlights, music from a local band, and much more.
The livestream will feature nearby campuses, including the Ivy Tech Franklin campus. Ivy Tech Columbus serves students from Bartholomew, Decatur, Jackson, Jennings, Johnson, and Shelby counties.
Ivy Tech Day is a 24-hour fundraising event that raises money for the Ivy Tech Foundation, which has established scholarships to support students who face unexpected issues or emergency situations. The scholarships can help students stay enrolled when life’s unexpected events jeopardize their education.
The scholarship helps them stay enrolled when they otherwise might not be able to stay in school amid emergencies. For example, the scholarship has helped students who needed help getting their vehicle fixed, paying an unexpected bill, and other unforeseen circumstances.
In celebration of Ivy Tech Day, Mayor Ferdon of Columbus is also expected to issue a proclamation and turn the Robert N. Stewart Bridge Green for the day.
