JAMESTOWN — Jamestown Dollars for Scholars (JDFS), a program of Scholarship America, announced the awarding of 56 scholarships totaling $58,500 at the recent Jamestown High School Awards Ceremony on May 7. Once again, a new milestone was met by awarding over 55 scholarships for the first time and the introduction of seven new scholarships, reflecting the commitment of the community to supporting education and honoring remarkable individuals.
The families and friends of two JHS alumni who passed away too soon established scholarships in the memory of Ethan Igl, Class of 2023, and Angela Reidburn, Class of 1998. The Class of 1974 honored the
memory of Frank Fischer, lifelong educator and superintendent, with the Frank Fischer/Jamestown Dollars
for Scholars Scholarship. Additionally, Sanford Health and Dr. Dawn’s Pet Shop each contributed to the expansion of educational support for deserving students. The Medicine Shoppe and Tom Gould
scholarships recognized students who are continuing their athletic pursuit collegiately.
