Jaseng Oriental Medicine Hospital Deliver Hope Dream Scholarships to 38 Low-Income Youths – SportsChosun

Nineteen self-sustaining oriental medicine hospitals nationwide participated in the event, and during that period, 19 hospitals delivered scholarships to a total of 38 teenagers in line with their own schedules.

Scholars are students with excellent academic enthusiasm even in difficult environments, and were selected through recruitment and screening through local social welfare institutions. A total of 19 million won in scholarships, 500,000 won each, were delivered to them, and they will be used for textbooks, school activities, and academy expenses for their studies

Park Byung-mo, chairman of the Self-Sustaining Medical Foundation, said, `I hope this scholarship will serve as a small foundation for children’s dreams,’ and `The Self-Sustaining Medical Foundation will do its best to promote education and welfare for young people who will continue to lead future generations.’

Meanwhile, this scholarship was raised through the proceeds of the 「12th Self-Sustaining Hope Dream Charity Bazaar」 held in November and donations from the Self-Sustaining Medical Foundation. The Self-Sustaining Hope Dream Charity Bazaar has been held every year since 2012, and last year, more than 120 executives and volunteers from self-sustaining oriental medicine hospitals, including foundation officials, and 500 local residents and patients participated in the sharing.

In addition, the Self-Sustaining Medical Foundation is carrying out various social contribution activities for low-income youth in addition to supporting the Hope Dream scholarship. Examples include ‘Jaeng Dream Tree Film Festival’, ‘Jaeng Dream Tree Olympics’ and ‘Angel Box Delivery’ to support women’s hygiene products, contributing to the growth and welfare of vulnerable youth.
