Justin Jefferson of Pocahontas competed at the District Contest of the International Oratorical Contest in Peoria, IL, on April 12.
He spoke on the topic “ How my Optimism Has Guided Me Through Trying Times.”
Justin represented the Greenville Optimist Club after placing in the local contest in Greenville and he competed with speakers in the zone/regional contest in Belleville.
At the district contest he competed with speakers from throughout the State of Illinois and won third place. He was awarded a $1000.00 Scholarship for his efforts.
This is an annual contest and he is eligible to compete again next year. The Greenville Optimist Club is extremely proud to be part of its success.
