QUINCY (WGEM) – Day two of the K of C Barbecue kicked off Saturday afternoon.
The actual BBQ didn’t kick off until 5 p.m., but starting at noon, residents we able to ride carnival rides.
A good portion of the money from the event goes to different local organizations and scholarships for local students, and it’s something organizers look forward to every year.
“This is a big deal for us, and it’s a big deal for the community. This is an annual event that all the families in this whole area really look forward to. People get to come out here and see their friends and family that they haven’t seen since last year at this barbecue,” said Bill Anderson, K of C BBQ Chairman.”
The BBQ still has runs until midnight on Saturday and from noon until 7 p.m. on Sunday.
