Mercy Foundation and the Professional Management of Oregon Physicians recently awarded Douglas County students the Kelly Morgan Healthcare Scholarship.
A foundation release said each award is a $1,000 scholarship to pursue a career in healthcare. This year’s recipients include:
*Baylei Donahoe – South Umpqua High School
*Peyton Fisher – Roseburg High School
*Jazermil Mercado – Roseburg High School
*Saebrah Rogers – South Umpqua High School
*Kamryn Wattman – Roseburg High School
The Kelly Morgan Healthcare fund was established by the Professional Management of Oregon Physicians to honor Kelly Morgan’s 42 years in healthcare, including 16 years as CEO of Mercy Medical Center. The release said it’s a reflection of his commitment to encouraging the next generation of healthcare careers.
Morgan said, “In my life, education has been a strong foundational pillar of my values and I have a deep respect for students today that wish to pursue an education in healthcare”. Morgan said, “I am proud to support these awesome students from Douglas County as they take a significant step towards a healthcare career”.
