MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – Kansas Farm Bureau‘s (KFB) Foundation for Agriculture awarded $26,500 scholarships to college students studying in fields that benefit agriculture and rural Kansas.
According to a press release from KFB, forty-five recipients were awarded scholarships for the 2025-26 school year.
“We’re investing in students today to ensure they become tomorrow’s leaders,” says KFB President and Foundation Chair Joe Newland.
In addition to the foundation’s scholarships, county Farm Bureaus across Kansas awarded more than $160,000 in scholarships to nearly 200 recipients.
“The KFB Foundation for Agriculture is absolutely thrilled to support our member students through these scholarship awards,” says Shannon Martin, the foundation’s assistant director. “It’s an honor to invest in their potential and help them achieve their academic and personal goals.”
Here are the recipients of KFB’s Foundation for Agriculture scholarships:
Nicole Haase, Ellsworth County, was awarded $1,000 for the Frank and Helen Bernasek Memorial Scholarship, a permanent, privately endowed scholarship fund.
Madeline Drake, Pratt County, was awarded $1,000 for the Kansas State University Agricultural Communications and Journalism Scholarship.
Kiana Martin, Ellis County, and Kolton Maneth, Rush County, each received $500 from the Godfrey and Emma Bahr-Miller Memorial Scholarship, a permanent, privately endowed scholarship fund for students attending a college in Kansas and majoring in a subject related to agriculture.
Riley Showalter, Shawnee County, was awarded $500 for the DeWitt Ahlerich Memorial Scholarship, a permanent, privately endowed scholarship fund.
Addison Green Russell, Osborne County, was awarded $500 from the Lester Crandall Memorial Scholarship, a permanent, privately endowed fund.
Abigail Meiwes, Allen County, was awarded a $500 scholarship from the Michael J. Berntsen Memorial Scholarship.
Eight students received $500 scholarships to Kansas technical colleges. They are Trey Collins, Cloud County; Billy Eckhardt, Sherman County; Cole Flory, Douglas County; Kaden Haas, Ellis County; Tyler Hill, Sherman County; Seth Keeten, Phillips County; Tanner Vyzourek, Rawlins County; and Levi Wellbrock, Ellis County.
Four $1,000 KFB Foundation scholarships were awarded to juniors and seniors enrolled in Kansas State University’s College of Agriculture. They are Mikayla Dibben, Geary County; Ethan Kneisler, Osage County; Bryson Stejskal, Grant County; and Aidan Yoho, Woodson County.
Two $1,000 KFB Foundation scholarships were awarded to juniors and seniors enrolled at Fort Hays State University. Recipients are Kortney Lang, Barton County, and Karmen Palmer, Cowley County.
Twenty-four recipients received $500 scholarships. These students are attending a Kansas college with a Kansas Farm Bureau Collegiate Farm Bureau chapter. Students must be a Collegiate Farm Bureau chapter member.
