We have been busy!
The new year brought with it new NBCF Board of Director members and officers, as well as much activity in the grants and scholarships arenas.
In January, NBCF welcomed new board members Beverly Davidek and Lark Mason.
Beverly Davidek graduated from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas, in 1994. After practicing law for more than 20 years in San Antonio, raising three sons who live and work in San Antonio, and traveling the world with her husband Dirk, Beverly moved to New Braunfels and established Davidek Law Firm in 2017. Her firm focuses on estate planning, probate, business law, and asset protection. It has been voted Best Attorney for five out of the last seven years in New Braunfels.
Beverly currently also serves as a Board member of the New Braunfels Downtown Association and as a member of the New Braunfels Rotary Club, where she serves on the Foundation Committee and Community Service Committee. She frequently volunteers for various local nonprofits, including Comal Conservation and Hope Hospice.
Lark Mason, Jr. is an author, appraiser, independent curator, educator, auctioneer, and art consultant. He has been the president of the Appraiser’s Association of America, chairman of Asia Week New York, is on the board of Preservation Society of Newport County, Rhode Island, and is the CEO and founder of Lark Mason Associates and iGavelAuctions.com. Lark is noted for his regular appearances on the PBS series Antiques Roadshow as a specialist in Asian works of art and will begin recording season 31 in April. In New Braunfels he is a member of the Conservation Society, the Sophienburg Museum, the Heritage Society, the German-American Society, and is an associate (non-singing) member of the Gemischterchor Harmonie.
The 2025 NBCF Board Officers include Michael Meek, chair; Jeff Kahlig, vice chair; Wes Studdard, treasurer; and Karl Hittle, secretary.
At the January board meeting, directors also thanked Judge Brenda Chapman, who termed out, for serving as a board member and also serving as a board chair in the past.
Those continuing to serve on the NBCF Board of Directors include Gary Seals, Barry Williams, Dr. Gary Barr, Larry Hammonds, Quinn Holtman, Laura Pinto, Matt Kyle, Steve Wood and Jason Leach.
