The Laurel Kiwanis Club recently honored Jones County high school scholarship recipients at the Laurel Country Club. The 16 recipients and their parents joined the Kiwanis members at a luncheon at the LCC.
The event was organized by Kiwanis board member and treasurer Rhonda Gilbert. Mason Wood, the club’s president-elect, introduced the graduates. The money raised for the scholarships came from Pancake Day Breakfast, which takes place in December.
Kiwanis, a global organization with a local heart, is dedicated to making a difference in the world, one child and one community at a time.
“Our club is proud to be a part of this noble mission, and our annual scholarship program is just one of the many ways we strive to uplift our community,” Kiwanis officials said.
