LA CROSSE (WKBT) — Several students from area high schools received scholarships Tuesday afternoon for their good deeds.
The La Crosse Kiwanis Club awarded nine high school seniors with $750 dollar scholarships to go towards their post high school expenses.
School staff members were asked to select students they considered to be “good kids” for the scholarships.
Kiwanis chair member Glenda Lee explained the “good” qualifications needed for the award.
“Somebody who has a volunteer ability, and attitude, and actually goes out and helps others. That type of individual. One who is very giving, very caring,” said Lee.
Tuesday’s ceremony marked the 49th year the Kiwanis Club of La Crosse has given out this award.
